Crafting is a main feature of survival mode that involves the combination of resources to create new things. It is an essential part of creating items, tools, and blocks.

In the inventory, the player has a small 2x2 crafting area, which can be used to craft simple items, including the crafting table, to craft more advanced items.

2x2 Crafting area

This is the crafting area every player has at all times, found in the survival inventory.

Crafting table

To create a crafting table, players open their inventory and place 4 planks of wood in a square pattern on the 2x2 work grid. The wooden planks must be placed on each of the 4 grid squares. Once the correct pattern is formed, players can grab the crafting table from the exit slot.

3x3 Crafting area

Once a player has crafted a crafting table, they can place it in their game world and interact with it to access the expanded crafting grid. This 3x3 grid opens up a whole new world of crafting possibilities, enabling players to combine various ingredients and materials to create a wide range of items, tools, weapons, armor, and decorative blocks.

Trivia
