Swords in Mine Blocks are available in 5 different types: wooden, stone, iron, golden, and diamond - each of which have different durability and damage. To use a sword, simply click in the direction of a mob (in reach). The mob will take damage if hit and the sword will have increased damage.

Usage

Attacking

The sword can be used to attack mobs or entities by left-clicking with the cursor on them.

Damage

The base damage is used to calculate the total damage considering potion effects, enchantments, and making a critical hit. However, the damage dealt is always rounded down, so for an unenchanted sword hit which is not critical the damage dealt would be the base damage rounded down.

The durability (amount of uses until the tool breaks) for swords is calculated just like the rest of the tools.

Type Durability (uses) Base Damage
Wooden 60 3 (♥♥)
Stone 132 4 (♥♥)
Iron 251 5.5 (♥ × 2.75)
Golden 30 4.5 (♥ × 2.25)
Diamond 1562 7 (♥♥♥♥)

Mining

Swords can be used to break lemon blocks and cobwebs more quickly.

Enchanting

Swords can be enchanted directly through the enchantment table.

Enchantments applicable to swords include:

  • Fire Aspect
  • Knockback
  • Looting
  • Bane of Arthropods
  • Smite
  • Sharpness
  • Unbreaking

Fuel

Wooden swords can be used as fuel in a furnace, smelting up to 3 items.

Smelting

Both iron and gold swords can be smelted, giving one nugget.
