Smelting is a system that allows the player to modify items, such as cooking food and making glass.
Contents
Requirements
• Crafting a furnace
To cook, the player must use a furnace. A furnace can be crafted using 8 pieces of cobblestone on the crafting table. This method is similar to crafting a chest, simply swapping out the wood for cobblestones.
|
|
• Fuel
Cooking also requires fuel. The easiest fuel to obtain is charcoal because it is made very easily by smelting wood, which doesn't require much mining other than the cobblestone used to make the furnace. Other items that can be used for fuel include coal, some wooden items such as stick or wooden planks. Bamboo and lava can also be used as fuel. Certain fuel sources last longer than others. For example, a bucket of lava will light the furnace ten times more than coal.
Fuel source: | Items smelted: |
Stick | 0.5 |
Wooden Planks | 1 |
Wood | 1 |
Coal | 8 |
Charcoal | 8 |
Coal Block | 80 |
Bucket of Lava | 100 |
Recipes
