A pickaxe is required to obtain any stone, and must be of a suitable material for different minerals.

Obtaining

Wooden pickaxes and stone pickaxes can be found in a Bonus chest. They can also be found inside chests in dungeons, skyholds and ruins.

Usage

Successive types include the abilities of previous ones but can mine faster, and give the player the ability to collect drops from some blocks.

Note:

  • Bedrock cannot be broken by any means in Survival mode.
  • Some blocks drop nothing even with a diamond pickaxe, such as the mob spawner.
