Potato are a type of item you can find in Chests and around forest biomes.

You can "grow" some potatoes by planting one of them in Farmland.

Eating a raw potato will regain 1.5 hunger points, but cooking it in a furnace will give you a baked potato, which gives 2.5 hunger points.
