Welcome to Mine Blocks Wiki's Sandbox!

This is the Mine Blocks Wiki sandbox. You can experiment with making edits on this page. To edit this page, click the "Edit" tab (or the pencil button in mobile view) at the top of the page, or click here. After making your changes, you can preview them by clicking the "Show preview" button below the edit box, and save them by clicking the "Save page" button in the same place. Note that changes made here are not kept, since this page is only meant for testing. If you have an account, you are logged in, and your account is approved, you can create subpages of this page (e.g. Mine Blocks Wiki:Sandbox/Temporary testing page) for longer-term projects, though these may still be deleted after a period of inactivity. Additionally, if you're registered, you can create a personal sandbox in your userspace where you can experiment without worrying that your changes will be wiped.

Wood is a resource in Mine Blocks which is required to progress in the beginning, and comes in useful throughout the time a player plays in a world, as it is used to craft wooden planks. There are two types of wood, wood and tree wood.

Obtaining

Wood can be mined with anything, but using an axe will speed up the process. Both wood and tree wood drop regular wood.

Trees

Tree wood generates naturally in trees. Although it is in the creative inventory, tree wood is unobtainable in survival, even with the silk touch enchantment. Because of this, tree wood does not count as wood in crafting and smelting recipes.

When the tree wood is removed from a tree, the leaves will start to decay, sometimes dropping saplings. These can be replanted on grass or dirt to grow another tree, making wood easily farmable.

Usage

Wood and tree wood do not count as the same items, so they cannot be used interchangeably in recipes.

Leaf Decaying

Tree wood will stop leaves from decaying.

Placing

Both wood and tree wood share the exact same texture.

Regular wood does not support leaves. It acts as a normal solid block, and does not let entities pass through it. If the player is at least two blocks away, when a block of regular wood is placed what is usually the top will face the player, like hay bales.

The only way to move tree wood is using pistons. The player and mobs can walk through it.

Crafting Ingredient

Wooden planks are one of the most useful items in Mine Blocks, if not the most useful. In survival, they are required for almost all crafting recipes, either directly or indirectly.

Smelting Ingredient

This recipe is useful because, unlike coal, charcoal is renewable. Wood is abundant, so it is easy to make early on and can be used if a player does not have a lot of coal in their world.
