Contents
Obtaining
Bamboo can be broken with anything, but using an axe will speed up the process.
Rafts
Rafts drop bamboo when broken.
Natural generation
Bamboo spawns in mountains, plains, and forest biomes.
Post-generation
Bamboo can be farmed by using bone meal on it, accelerating its natural growth. It can grow up to 10 blocks tall.
Usage
Bamboo can be used to fuel a smelter, although they don't supply as much fuel as coal would. It can also be used in any crafting recipe that might otherwise require sticks.
If bamboo does not have dirt, grass, or another piece of bamboo below it, it will drop as an item.
Crafting ingredient
Six pieces of bamboo are required to craft a raft.
Six pieces of bamboo are required to craft the Bamboo Door.
The bamboo block is crafted using four bamboo.
Sticks
Bamboo can replace sticks in any crafting recipe, so there are many other uses for it. Since bamboo grows much quicker than trees, they are easier to collect and use as sticks.

Trivia
- Bamboo was added to Minecraft in October 2018, over five years after it was added to Mine Blocks.
- While in Mine Blocks bamboo can completely replace sticks on all crafting recipes, this is not the case in Minecraft, where it can be used to craft sticks instead.
