The enchantment table allow players to give armor and tools special abilities and strength. This feature can be looked at as trading experience for enchantments. Enchantment tables are expensive to make as it requires 2 diamonds, 4 obsidian and 1 book. There are a total of 22 enchantments available, although there are several tiers (strengths) to many of the enchantments. Some enchantments may only be given to certain tools.

Crafting

To craft you need 3 obsidian blocks at the bottom, 1 obsidian block in the middle and 2 diamonds on the left and right of the middle obsidian block and on top of the middle obsidian block a book.

Stronger Enchantments

To increase the quality and tier of the enchantments, bookshelves (and bookshelf backdrops) may be placed in the area around the enchantment table. The more the bookshelves, the more chance of receiving better enchantments. However, more XP will be required to get these higher end enchantments.
