Portal stone can be broken with anything, but using a pickaxe is fastest.
Portals
Portal stone generates in a portal when the player enters the nether for the first time.
Crafting
Portal stone is crafted using 8 odd rock and 1 block of obsidian.

Usage
Portal stone is used to build the nether portal. This means it is necessary to have a diamond pickaxe in order to go to the nether.
