Obtaining
Farming

Each fully-grown wheat crop drops one piece of wheat when broken. Wheat is grown using seeds.
Chests
Wheat can be found in the bonus chest and in loot chests.
Crafting
A hay bale can be crafted back into nine pieces of wheat.
Usage
Three pieces of wheat are required in the recipe for a loaf of bread.
Three pieces of wheat are required in the recipe for a cake.
Two pieces of wheat are required in the recipe for a cookie.
The hay bale is crafted out of nine wheat. This is a more compact way of storing wheat, as each hay bale is worth nine wheat but takes up the same amount of inventory space.
