The golden apple seed is an item that can be used to grow golden apple trees.

Golden apple seeds are crafted by putting a golden apple in a normal 2x2 crafting grid.

Usage
The golden apple seed can be planted on a gold block or on gold soil to grow a golden apple tree. When placed it looks like a golden sapling.
When a golden apple seed grows, it uses up the block it grew on. If this block was a gold block, it is turned into gold soil. If it was gold soil, it is turned into dirt. Therefore, a single gold block can be used to grow two golden apple seeds. However, in total this uses up nine gold ingots, whereas using two pieces of gold soil would also yield two trees at a cost of only 8 gold ingots.
