A chest is a crafted block that can contain other blocks and items. A chest has 27 storage slots, each of which can contain 64 of the same block or item (except for slots containing items such as buckets or tools). A chest is a useful block to a new player running out of inventory space, and players that want to store and sort excess blocks and items. Destroying a chest will drop the blocks and items it contains on the block below where the chest was previously located. Naturally generated chests can be found in dungeons and ruins biomes.

Trivia
- Chests and furnaces are crafted similarly, with the only difference being in the type of block used in the crafting pattern (craft a chest with wood planks, craft a furnace with cobblestone)
- It's not possible to make a double (large) chest like in Minecraft
