Rain is a kind of weather that occurs in Mine Blocks. During a rainstorm, the sky gets darker, allows monsters to spawn on the surface. Rain only falls from the cloud level; going above the clouds shows a sky during clear weather. Rain will also put out fires and hydrate soil. Rain can be turned on and off using the weather command, or in horizontal bar above the Creative inventory. Blazes also take damage from rain if they are spawned outside the Nether.


Notes

  • Zombies and skeletons will stop burning in the rain.
  • It does not rain in the Desert biome.

Usage

Water

If you make a hole in the ground, rain can fill it up with water.

Moss

Rain is needed for moss to grow on cobblestone
