Obtaining
Natural Generation
Portal frames generate naturally in the ender portal found in the skyhold.
Ender Dragon's Death
Once the ender dragon dies, an ender portal spawns with seven portal frames all activated, allowing the player to go back to the Overworld.
Usage
A portal frame can be activated by shift-clicking on it with an eye of ender. This changes its texture to show the eye of ender inside. Once all of the portal frames are activated, the portal will open.
The portal frame cannot be moved by a piston.

Trivia
- Before version 1.29, explosions could break portal frames, causing them to be dropped as items. This effectively meant that using TNT, the player was able to pick up the blocks and rebuild the ender portal somewhere else.
