A fire egg is dropped by flaming chickens. It can be thrown by the player or ejected by a dispenser.

Upon landing after being thrown, a fire egg will set flammable blocks around it on fire. If it hits a regular chicken, it will be turned temporarily into a flaming chicken. A fire egg also has a 1 in 5 chance to spawn a regular chicken when thrown (the same chance that a regular egg has).

Obtaining

The fire egg is occasionally laid by a flaming chicken (once every 2 minutes, on average).

Trivia

  • Fire eggs cannot be eaten or cooked.
  • When thrown, they can sometimes spawn chickens.
