Creeper
Creepers are hostile mobs that explode when close to the player.
Spawning
Creepers spawn in any dark area, such as underground or on the surface at night. It only spawns in the Overworld.
Drops
Creepers drop 0-2 gun powder and some experience when killed. They do not drop anything if they explode.
Behavior
Creepers will attempt to follow the player. It can jump two blocks high.
If a creeper gets close to a player, it makes a hissing sound of a lit fuse. If the player doesn't back away far enough (or kill it first), it explodes, turning some of the blocks around it into collectible items, and completely destroy others. If a creeper is set on fire with flint and steel or if it's head is underwater, it does not explode.
An effective method for killing a creeper that is seen ahead of time is to create a wall that is at least three blocks high and a one block overhang on the creeper's side. This prevents the creeper from getting to the player by jumping over the wall, so the player may proceed to attack it. This method also works on other mobs.
Unlike zombies and skeletons, creepers do not catch fire in daylight.

Trivia
In Minecraft, creepers are effective at killing players due to the first-person camera, as well as their quiet nature. Mine Blocks creepers end up at a disadvantage compared to their Minecraft counterparts because The player can easily see behind them before they have a chance to get close.
