Food
- Some of these are probably inaccurate because Mine Blocks doesn't have half hunger points. It would be nice if we could refer to this page when writing about food, but its hard to test it because you cannot set hunger, so you just have to wait for your hunger to go down. :/ TheTopazRobot (talk) 06:56, 18 February 2018 (CST)
- I've edited the list according to current wiki pages, so the table no longer contains any half hunger points. Doomquokka (talk) 17:14, 19 December 2018 (CST)
- Oh thanks Zanzlanz! :D TheTopazRobot (talk) 12:03, 20 December 2018 (CST)
- Just to be clear is the value rounded or is it saved without showing it on the hunger bar? TheTopazRobot (talk) 12:05, 20 December 2018 (CST)
- It's ceiled, so if you have 901 hunger (called "food" in the code), it shows 10 food icons. If you have 900 food, it shows 9 icons. You can't eat a slice of cake unless your food value is 900 or below, because otherwise, as far as the player knows, they have a full food bar. - Zanzlanz (talk) 15:04, 20 December 2018 (CST)
- Thanks :) TheTopazRobot (talk) 16:22, 20 December 2018 (CST)
- Acknowledged. I'll change the wiki pages to match. Thanks much! --Doomquokka (talk) 13:05, 20 December 2018 (CST)
Poison
- So I referenced two types of poison: "poison" and "hunger poison". Poison will hurt the player, causing their health to decrease. "Hunger poison" will only rapidly decrease the player's food/hunger bar. In the game this effect is referred to as "hunger", but it seems it is intuitive for players to call it poison, as in "food poisoning". Should we make sure the wiki refers to this value as the same thing. We could call it food poisoning, a hunger status effect, or "hunger poison" as I wrote (which may be confusing).
- I think "hunger poison" gets the idea across. Hopefully players won't get confused as long as the wiki itself is consistent. TheTopazRobot (talk) 16:22, 20 December 2018 (CST)
- I'd vote against "food poisoning"; in my mind, food poisoning causes physical damage rather than lack of nutrition (though that could be because it kills you outright in NetHack). I think either "hunger" or "hunger poisoning" would work. --Doomquokka (talk) 17:08, 20 December 2018 (CST)
