A pig is a commonly found passive mob. When a pig is killed, unless it dies from being set on fire, they will drop 0-2 raw pork chops, along with 0-2 raw bacons, which the player can cook. If they do die from a fire, however, the food items they drop will be already cooked! They only spawn in the day time on grass tiles. They are not hostile, so they will not attack, even if they have been hit.

Behavior

Pigs will wonder around aimlessly and while doing so, avoiding hazards in their direction. They will not attempt to harm the player. Saddles can be placed on their backs and you are able to ride them. However, riding on them prevents control, unless you have a Carrot on a stick, then they will obey you.

Trivia

  • Pigs don't attack you, even if being hit, however they do run in circles for a few moments because they're passive mobs.
  • If a pig manages to get struck by lightning, it will turn into a Zombie Pigman!
