Skeletons are hostile mobs found in dark places, and at night. They are the same height as the player and have a unique behavior of shooting arrows at their targets using their bows. At day time, skeletons will catch on fire and take damage if they are under the sunlight.

SkeletonHead Skeletons are hostile mobs that will shoot arrows from their bow when they see the Player_head player to deal damage and potentially kill the player.

This mob has 20 (♥ × 10) Health and can drop Arrow arrow, Bone bones and Bow bow when killed.

Spawning

Skeletons spawn in dark places in the Overworld, which includes the surface at night.

Besides spawning randomly, skeletons will also spawn from monster spawners, making monster spawners a convenient way to get their drops.

Commands

A Skeleton can be spawned in another way, aside from its respective spawn egg, while cheats are enabled, using the command /summon skeleton.

In addition to that, you can add data tags to customize the skeleton. examples:

 • /summon skeleton 1 ~ ~ {name:"skeleton custom", health:30, defaultDrops:false}
 • /summon skeleton 1 ~ ~ {name:"skeleton", health:1, drops:[{item:{id:"bone_shuriken", name:"shuriken"}, quantity:5, bonus:4}]}

Drops

Skeleton drop Experience_orb_2 experience points when killed.

Upon death it will drop 0-2 Arrow Arrow and 0-2 Bone bones. They also have a chance of dropping a Bow bow with random durability as a rare drop.

Crafting

Crafting with the skeleton drop:

Bone Shuriken Bone Meal Bone Block

Bone Invisible-sprite Bone Invisible-sprite Bone Invisible-sprite Bone Invisible-sprite Bone Bone Shuriken8

Invisible-sprite Invisible-sprite Invisible-sprite Invisible-sprite Bone Invisible-sprite Invisible-sprite Invisible-sprite Invisible-sprite Bone Meal3

Behavior

If a skeleton gets close enough to the Player_head player, it will start following them around. They will also attempt to shoot arrows at the player at regular intervals.

They usually have good aim, but good maneuvering can help avoid their attacks. They walk a bit faster than ZombieHead zombies and do 1.5 ( 3 (♥♥) ) damage.

As with zombies, when skeletons come in contact with sunlight, they catch on Fire fire and take damage.
