Skeletons are hostile mobs that will shoot arrows from their bow when they see the player to deal damage and potentially kill the player.
This mob has 20 ( × 10) Health and can drop arrow, bones and bow when killed.
Contents
Spawning
Skeletons spawn in dark places in the Overworld, which includes the surface at night.
Besides spawning randomly, skeletons will also spawn from monster spawners, making monster spawners a convenient way to get their drops.
Commands
A Skeleton can be spawned in another way, aside from its respective spawn egg, while cheats are enabled, using the command /summon skeleton
.
In addition to that, you can add data tags to customize the skeleton. examples:
/summon skeleton 1 ~ ~ {name:"skeleton custom", health:30, defaultDrops:false}
/summon skeleton 1 ~ ~ {name:"skeleton", health:1, drops:[{item:{id:"bone_shuriken", name:"shuriken"}, quantity:5, bonus:4}]}
Drops
Skeleton drop experience points when killed.
Upon death it will drop 0-2 Arrow and 0-2 bones. They also have a chance of dropping a bow with random durability as a rare drop.
