Saplings are young trees, that have yet to grow into full blocks of wood and leaves. Saplings have a chance to be dropped by leaves when destroyed or decayed. In order for a sapling to grow into a tree, it must be placed in an open, lit area on grass. After some amount of time it will instantly turn into a tree.
