A pig is a commonly found passive mob. When a pig is killed, unless it dies from being set on fire, they will drop 0-2 [[raw pork chop]]s, along with 0-2 [[raw bacon]]s, which the player can cook. If they do die from a fire, however, the food items they drop will be already cooked!  They only spawn in the day time on grass tiles. They are not hostile, so they will not attack, even if they have been hit.

A PigHead pig is a passive mob commonly found in the world of Mine Blocks wandering aimlessly.

This mob has 10 (♥♥♥♥♥) Health and will drop Raw Porkchop Raw porkchop and Raw bacon Raw bacon when killed

Spawning

The pig only spawns in the day time on Grass grass blocks.

Commands

A pig can be spawned in another way besides its respective spawn egg, with the command /summon pig you can spawn it.

In addition to that you can add data tags to customize the pig. examples:

  • /summon pig 1 ~ ~ {name:"Thief pig", Health:5, defaultDrops:0, drops:[{item:{id:"gold_ingot", name:"Cash"},quantity:6, bonus:2}]
  • /summon pig 1 ~ ~ {health:20, baby:5, defaultDrops:0, drops:[{item:{id:"carrot"}, isBaby:1}]}}

Drops

When killed, they drop 0-2 Raw Porkchop raw porkchops (0-2 Cooked Porkchop Cooked porkchop if on fire) and 0-2 Raw bacon Raw bacon (0-2 Cooked bacon Cooked bacon if on fire).

It will also drop some Experience_orb_2 experience points.

Behavior

The pig will wonder around aimlessly, avoiding hazards in its direction. It can jump up to two blocks high.

If a pig is struck by lightning, it turns into a Zombie_Pigman_Head zombie pigman.

The pig can be made rideable for the Player_head player by placing a saddle on its back. While riding the pig, the player can control the pig's movement using a Carrot_on_a_Stick carrot on a stick, however this is limited to sideways movement, as the pig will jump randomly by itself, and if the player presses the jump button they will dismount from the pig. If the player sneaks, the pig will stop, however otherwise it just keeps going in the direction it was going in before, not avoiding any drops. As the pig moves, the durability of the carrot on a stick goes down.
