Glass is a decorative block smelted by putting sand in a furnace. When glass is broken, it shatters into glass shards which can be put back together into glass again.
Stained glass
Glass can be colored by combining it with a dye color in the crafting interface.

Trivia
- Along with glowstone and redstone lamps, it is one of the few blocks that make a shattering sound. When walked on, though, it will make the generic stone sound.
