Void Description
The void is the place out of the confinement of bedrock in the overworld, or the nether. The only way to fall into the void of the overworld or nether is when you go into creative, break the bedrock, and jump out. You can however, get into the void of the End dimension on survival as there is no bedrock preventing you from going down.
Trivia
Sometimes in survival, by glitch, you get through the bedrock by falling from a far place above. You will start to lose health upon entering the void in survival. You will also die in creative
Impenetrable
You can't pass through the 2 layers of bedrock. If you pass through the impenetrable bedrock, You will be falling forever in darkness.Remedy: Use cheat mode to switch to Creative, click on "Go Home", and back to your spawn point.
