Sugarcane is generated naturally in the overworld in Forest, Plains, and Water biomes. It may occur in other biomes, but is rarer. It can also be found in dungeon loot chests.

Crafting ingredient
A piece of sugarcane can be crafted into one sugar.

Nether wart is a crop that requires the player to go to the nether in order to be able to grow.

Obtaining
Nethereye
Currently, the only way to get nether wart if the player does not have any yet is to kill a nethereye while in the Nether, and potentially have a piece dropped. The chances of this can be increased using the looting enchantment.

Crop
When a fully grown crop is harvested, it drops 1-3 nether wart. If broken before maturing, it will drop nothing.

Usage
Crafting recipes
Nether wart is involved in the crafting recipe of the nether wart blocks and red nether bricks.

Brewing
Nether wart is used to brew the awkward potion.

Growing
To grow nether wart, the player must plant some nether wart into a soul sand block, and wait a while to get a full grown nether wart. When fully grown, it has a chance of dropping more than one, allowing you to expand your farm. This can be done in the Overworld, and not just the nether.
Obsidian is a very resistant block.

Obtaining
Obsidian is a material found naturally in Nether and in The End or created in the Overworld when a water flux makes contact with a lava source block. Obsidian can only be mined with a diamond pickaxe and is the toughest mineable block. This block resist explosions. nether eyes, when killed, could drop obsidian.
Usage
Obsidian can be used for build explosion-resistant structures and different crafting recipes.

A monster spawner spawns monsters. When mined, they will not drop anything, even if mined with a diamond pickaxe that is enchanted with Silk Touch. The player can find them in dungeons and in the skyhold.

The mobs that the mob spawner spawns are Skeletons, spiders, and zombies. To spawn mobs, the spawner needs to be very nearby. Every 10 seconds or so, the spawner spawns a mob. It has a chance to spawn a monster every second. The chances of that are 1 & 160. The player must either slay these mobs, destroy the spawner, or run away.

The bright sides of a mob spawner is that they are created in dungeons which generate with loot, and that they can be used to create monster farms!

A nether portal allows the player to travel to a dimension known as the nether. Another nether portal is generated at the spawn point in the nether.

Building a Nether portal
To build the nether portal, you will need Odd Rock, Obsidian, and Flint and Steel. Create a U-shaped portal, by making and placing 4 portal stone in a horizontal row, and 1 sitting on top of this base at each end. To activate it, light it on fire, by using Flint and Steel on its inner blocks. Make sure to light the portal stones on fire, not the space above the portal stones!

Trivia
*The variation of the portal compared to the Minecraft version is due to the game being 2D.

Bugs
*There are some rare cases where the portal teleports to a glitched or corrupt world.
*when you return from the nether you can tp everywhere in the world
*Also sometimes it will crash every time and never fully load.
*The portal is functional without the portal blocks making it only necessary to build and reuse one.

Stone (Also known as smooth stone, or rock) is the most common resource in MineBlocks. It exists only a few blocks under the player's feet. It is easily mined, as it only requires a wooden pickaxe to mine. When mined, it drops cobblestone, which is required to craft the next tier of tools: stone tools.

Stone is a renewable resource. To create it, mix lava and water. Make sure NOT to mix the source blocks - only mix their trails (If the source blocks are mixed, you get a Obsidian block instead). This will generate a cobblestone block where the two liquids meet. You can then mine the cobblestone, and smelt it into regular stone.

In general, Mine Blocks redstone circuits are assumed to behave like 2 dimensional Minecraft circuits, and Minecraft guides are applicable where this wiki is deficient.

This page is provided for Mine Blocks-specific details, special cases, and links to related topics.
Exceptions
Downward Signals
A redstone torch placed on the side of a block does NOT power the block below it as in Minecraft.
To get downward signals in Mine Blocks without moving parts, you can use the following arrangement.

Basic Power configurations
Legend
Symbols for significant power levels with distinct effects.

Torch
Dust
The green blocks act as relays when present, causing the target tile states to be updated according to the dust state, otherwise they stay at their last state. The left version overrides the right.

Top-mounted
Side-mounted
The circled tile remains charged after power is removed, and activates the tile above it, unless explicitly depowered by other means.

Anomalies
The above scheme is simplified for practical use, but there are configurations that it can't describe.

Other Issues
The block updating order and internal states are not described here, but can have unexpected and temporary side-effects.
It is easy to create "phantom" power in ways other than shown above. An off-switch attached to such positions then removed is a reliable remedy unless there is an active source causing it.
It is also common for tiles that should be powered to remain inactive, or be made inactive by touching unpowered dust for example. The remedy is to force the update to work differently either by resetting power or partial rebuilding.
